Farmstead Lodges Suffolk

Last week I posted about our end of summer holiday in Suffolk. I mentioned that having a good base to stay, for us is super important now that we have two young children. We look for somewhere great to set up camp, because its likely we’ll spend a lot of time there. Particularly in the evenings once the kids are in bed, and in the mornings when breakfast and morning routines take time with two littles in tow.

We tend to look on Airbnb for our holiday stays. We like to have a self catering option, so we can make food for the kids and ourselves easily. We also like to book something that feels like home, with a comfy living area and great outdoor space for the kids to play. This holiday was also a ‘mini moon’ of sorts following our wedding this summer. So we wanted something a little luxurious to treat ourselves come the evenings.

Never has a stay in the UK ticked off so many of these boxes, as Farmstead Lodges did. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found their listing on Airbnb. Not only was it available, but it was reasonably priced given the level of accomodation.

  • Ensuite Bedroom with freestanding bath

With a number of lodges on site, of varying sizes, we booked a 2 bed - Lodge 1. This included two large bedrooms which both had an ensuite bathroom, and the master bedroom also having a freestanding copper bath tub. Both beds featured Piglet in Bed bedding, to make our evenings even more comfortable. The kids shared a room with our eldest taking the double bed, and our youngest in a travel cot that we provided. But I believe Farmstead Lodges also have twin room options available.

  • Fully equipped kitchen

The kitchen/living area was large, with plenty of space for the children to play. The kitchen is fully equipped with Soho Home crockery, Grind coffee machine, Rangemaster oven and Dualit toaster. The living room includes a very large plush corner sofa, perfect to fit the whole family, and a SmartTV so we could login to all our favourite streaming channels.

  • Outdoor bath tub

Outside the lodge had a veranda with a second free standing bath tub. The ultimate in luxury, we made great use of this feature, watching the sun set every evening with a glass of wine and a good book in hand. Each lodge has it’s own lawn and wrap around wild flower meadow, and no two lodges face each other. So it felt very private and we weren’t afraid to use the outdoor tub!

Every detail inside and outside the lodges had been carefully considered. The furnishings are tasteful and condisderate to their surroundings. The bathrooms feature copper pipe showers and corrogated metal walls. It’s farmyard meets 5 star luxury hotel.

Farmstead Lodges Easton
  • Location

Located in the small village of Easton, the owners of Farmstead Lodges have even mown a pathway through the fields opposite the entrance, so that you can walk the mere 1 mile into Easton on foot, avoiding the country lanes. Here you’ll find curved walls, famous in Suffolk, a small village green, quaint church and a fantasic pub. We made the trip a couple of nights during our week long stay. We also found Easton was a great base location wise, being around 25-40 minutes from all the places and activities I mentioned in my 'Top 5 Things to do in Suffolk’ blog post.

Currently (as of September 2023), Farmstead Lodges are offering 1 night free when you book a 2 night stay before 19th December. This post is in no way affiliated with Farmstead Lodges, (we genuinely found them by chance on Airbnb), but we had such a wonderful stay that I had to share.
