London Sanderson Hotel Review

SandersonSometimes you don’t need to travel far to enjoy a break. A little staycation, in your home city, is sometimes all that’s needed for you to relax and take a break for a day or two. That’s exactly what I did last week in London. I stayed at Sanderson one Thursday evening and had the best night’s sleep of the week! There’s just something about hotel beds that instantly relaxes me and I always sleep better than ever. This little jaunt was courtesy of my bestie, Katy. She arranged for us both to enjoy a one night’s stay, dinner, cocktails and breakfast the following morning, at one of London’s most fashionable hotels –Sanderson.Sanderson SandersonLocated on Berners Street in Fitzrovia, Sanderson couldn’t be better located. If we hadn’t had dinner at the hotel, there are an abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and bars within walking distance. It’s also fab if you’re planning a shopping trip to the capital, as it’s just a short walk to Oxford Street, meaning you can literally shop till you drop, and then roll into bed!Sanderson exudes luxury at every moment. The more you explore the hotel, the more you’re transported into another world, and instantly forget about the stresses and worries of everyday life. The bedrooms are low lit, with sumptuous curtains separating the bedroom from the en suite. Whilst we were enjoying dinner, hotel staff visited our room to pull the blinds down, leave our slippers by the bed and gently fold back a corner of bedding. It’s these little touches that take a good hotel stay to a great hotel stay.Sweet Monday Sanderson cocktails SandersonAfter our incredible nights sleep (we awoke thinking we may have missed our alarm, it had felt like we’d slept for so long!), in bedding that I will make my mission to find out the brand of, we slowly got ready and made our way down to the restaurant for breakfast. We sample three new dishes from a partnership between Sanderson and Mindful Chef. You may remember I’m a big fan of Mindful Chef, having reviewed their recipe subscription box before.Sanderson breakfast Sanderson breakfastThe dishes included Banana & Almond Protein Pancakes, Mexican Baked Eggs, and Smoked Salmon & Poached Eggs. The baked eggs were our favourite, they were deliciously juicy, the eggs perfectly cooked and just the right touch of spice. The pancakes were also a great choice, with the pancakes themselves being made from banana and almond, with a serving of coconut yoghurt (amazing), maple syrup and fresh berries on the side.Alas, no sooner had we finished breakfast, than I had to make a speedy exit to get to work, and the dream was over. It was back to reality! But this one night’s stay felt like such a luxury. Staying in not only a beautiful hotel, with an incredible bed, but meaning I had only a 15 minute commute to work – THE DREAM!Have you stayed at Sanderson before? How do you feel about ‘staycations’?(Read my review of Sanderson's Mad Hatters afternoon tea here).
