The Big Feastival, Oxfordshire

On Saturday I headed to Jamie Oliver and Alex James' festival 'The Big Feastival'. Held at Alex James farm in the Cotswolds the festival boasts a huge range of fantastic food and drink, including lots of local produce. As well as there being plenty of treats to try there is also music, cooking classes, a fair and whole field set up to entertain the children throughout the weekend.
There is quite literally so much food and drink to try that if like me you're ridiculously indecisive it becomes quite a headache! And you most definitely end up spending a small fortune. However 50p of every food or drink bought goes to Jamie Oliver's Food Foundation... so it's certainly not money wasted. There's also plenty of tasters to try from spirits, pimm's and coffee to olive oil, bread and cheese! There's lots of cheese :)

Alex James gave a talk on his favourite food... cheese! And we all got to sample his own Blue Monday cheese as well as some other super creamy, honey flavoured cheeses.
Afterwards he kindly did a book signing so I got his autobiography signed :) I've heard from a number of people that it's a good read so although I'm not a huge Blur fan I'm looking forward to reading about his interesting rock n roll life before life on the farm!

Straight after seeing Alex we headed over to the Electrolux stage to see Jamie Oliver cook up a storm! He prepared mussels before giving them to a rather good looking man in the crowd to try with his girlfriend and then proceeded to show us a flavourful peach salad and a pasta dish.
It was really fun seeing him cook, he's just as fun and carefree as he is on his TV shows. Although he admitted to being a little hungover, it seems him and Alex had had one too many the night before.

This drink was delicious! It was a gin cocktail mixed with a berry liquor and lemonade. It was really good and the pulled pork bap below was even better. Cooked from Jamie's Barbecoa restaurant there was also a pop up Jamie's Italian, Fabulous Feasts and Union Jacks.

And the day was topped off by catching the likes of Duke (the MC is incredible!), Lianne La Havas, Rizzle Kicks and Basement Jaxx. I'm a huge Rizzle Kicks fan and I've never seen them before so I was so excited to see them and I can confirm they're fantastic live :)
