Wyld Afternoon Tea, Sea Containers

DandelyanWhat better way to spend a Sunday than with afternoon tea in the gorgeous Dandelyan cocktail bar at Mondrian London. Wyld Tea is a unique afternoon tea, comprising of 1970s inspired food, paired with botanical cocktails from Ryan ‘Mr Lyan’ Chetiyawardana. Priced at just £55, your afternoon tea is served alongside four cocktails. Other options include the Champagne Wyld Tea at £45 with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut, or £35 for a Boozeless Wyld Tea, but where’s the fun in that?!Wyld Afternoon Tea Wyld Afternoon Tea Wyld Afternoon TeaThe menu comprises of four courses, featuring fun takes on classic dishes, quintessentially British finger sandwiches, savoury bites and sweet cakes. Similarly, to the cocktails, the food also incorporates botanical influences. Including Elderflower Compressed, Burnt Herb Cream & Rocket Sandwiches, Blackcurrant & Verbena Battenberg Cake, and Pine Scented Baked Alaska.Favourites of mine included the Leek & Goat’s Cheese Rarebit and Lyan Lager Braised Bacon Jam, Confit Suffolk Chicken Pin-wheel. I always love it when an afternoon tea doesn’t just stop at sandwiches.Dandelyan Afternoon Tea Dandelyan Afternoon Tea Dandelyan Afternoon Tea Dandelyan Afternoon TeaThe savoury selection is always my preferred course of an afternoon tea, and I never normally manage to finish all of the sweets. However, Wyld Tea at Dandelyan perfectly balances sweet and savoury, and I never felt that I was overindulging. Sweets such as the Rose Blancmange & Caraway Shortbread, and Nutmeg Custard Tart (my favourite dessert!), made a lovely alternative to the commonly very sweet cakes and macarons. In fact, I absolutely loved that the whole menu was very unique compared to any other afternoon tea I have experienced.Dandelyan Wyld Afternoon Tea Dandelyan Wyld Afternoon TeaThe Dandelyan bar is absolutely breath taking too, creating the perfect setting for afternoon tea, with its pastel pink leather sofas, dark turquoise walls and gold details. It’s really a blogger’s dream!Wyld Afternoon Tea: 5/5
