ASOS red velvet top

ASOS velvet cami

This outfit feels so Christmassy because of the wine coloured, velvet top, but I actually wore this out for Halloween last month, when I dressed up as sugar skull for the night. Annoyingly I can’t seem to find this top on the ASOS site now, to be able to share a direct link. I absolutely love it though, and they have so many velvet items for sale at the moment. Whether it’s a skirt, playsuit, shorts or maybe trousers, you name it, they have it!

I’m really glad the whole velvet trend is in fashion this season. It looks and feels really wintery and festive. Although, I have to admit, I actually hate the feel of velvet. When I touch it, it makes me shiver. So getting this on and off is quite a task! I don’t know why I’m like this with the texture. I remember when I was young, my Mum and Dad had velvet cushions on our sofa at home. Maybe it’s that – it’s scarred me for life! I used to throw them onto the floor and lay down flat on the sofa, with nothing to rest my head on, because I hated them so much. Haha.

Sweet Monday outfit, ASOS velvet topLeather jacket – 6ks | Top – ASOS | Jeans – Wrangler | Shoes – New LookI hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. I’ve spent mine catching up lots of blogging (I have so many exciting posts in the pipeline), and yesterday me and Stew had a double date day out with Katy and her boyfriend. Since she’s moved to London we get to see each other so much more often, and Stew and her boyfriend get on really well, so it’s great to hang out as a 4. It’s nice to have friends that are other couples.
