I am very proud to announce that I am one of Grow Gorgeous’ new ambassadors. Although I have been blogging for around 6 years now (wow has it really been that long?), I still have to pinch myself when fantastic opportunities like this one land in my inbox.
Grow Gorgeous are a haircare brand who have developed a range of products that activate, protect, cleanse and nourish your hair. Each collection uses unique innovation and a blend of super fuelled ingredients, to meet the demand that your hair needs in the modern world. The brand pride themselves on not only giving the appearance of healthy hair, but they take this a step further by unlocking the full potential of your hair to enable it to grow and be healthy.
As part of my initial trial I was kindly gifted 3 products to test out – Hair Density Serum Intense, End Split Ends and Back Into The Roots.
Hair Growth Serum – £45
This product is aimed at achieving visibly thicker hair. The serum contains glycine and zinc to improve hair length for a fuller appearance, whilst a unique form of water compatible caffeine absorbs into the scalp to help reduce hair loss. It is advised to apply 20 drops of the serum once a day onto the scalp, massage in and leave to absorb. I do this before bed and at first it was an odd experience. Some of the serum would run down my forehead and I was worried that some may not absorb and I would be left with greasy looking hair. However when I woke up in the morning I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything had dried and my hair looked as fresh as it had done before.
I’ve been using this product for the last 20 days and I do think I’ve noticed a difference. My hair feels much more voluminous, no matter whether I’ve just washed my hair that day, or if my hair is 2 days old. Whereas before I would find that my hair would look limp and greasy within a day of washing it. I find that the pollution and hard water of London has really effected my hair. So this product has really helped boost the overall look and feel of my hair.
I have visibly noticed a difference in hair loss too. As has my boyfriend! He would often complain before that my hair would be everywhere!! In the bed, on the floor, in the bath. Somehow it would even find itself onto his shirts, his towel etc etc. I always run a Tangle Teezer through my hair when I have applied conditioner in the shower, to try and help limit the amount of tangles and knots. However I would notice that a substantial amount of hair would come out, which I’d clean out of the brush and flush down the toilet. I’d also notice hair loss when blow drying my hair, straightening and brushing. I don’t know whether it was down to stress or the weather, but over summer I had noticed my hair loss getting worse. Nothing too alarming, but still it’s always a little frightening if you notice it’s becoming greater in volume.
However since using this product I have definitely notice this decrease again. So I hope that this will continue. Whether my hair is actually thicker or not, it certainly looks and feels it!
End Split Ends – £18.99
This product is meant to nourish and repair the ends of your hair, thus helping your hair look strong and healthy. Infused with a rich, exotic blend of Amazonian oils, including acai, palm and inca inchi, this leave in split end treatment seals the ends of your hair without making it feel greasy or sticky. Whereas a lot of other products I’ve previously used, do just that, leave it feeling so sticky that it’s as if I’ve ran hair gel through my hair! I apply this after straightening my hair in the attempt to tidy up the ends of my hair. Fortunately I have recently had my hair trimmed, so the ends aren’t as bad as they could be. And since I’ve grown my ombre effect out, the split ends are harder to see. But I am sure they are still there, with the amount I blow dry and straighten my hair. I really put my hair under far too much pressure from heat. However this product certainly helps counter that. I have certainly noticed a different when I re-curl my hair with my straighteners. Sometimes I will do this twice a day if I come home from and then head back out.
Back Into The Roots – £23.99
This product claims to ‘take your roots to new heights’. It is a 10 minute stimulating cooling scalp masque which boosts circulation and lifts the roots. So your hair is left looking fuller and more voluminous. Infused with burdock rot, hyaluronic acid, vitamins and caffeine, the mask stimulates and cools your scalp, whilst gently lifting the hair. To use the product you simply massage a generous amount into the scalp, leave for 10 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly.
