The View From The Shard

This month Avios have launched their #DoMoreWithAvios campaign, where you can send a friend or loved one a personalised message inviting them to spend your points with you - Avios are a reward points company in which you can earn points when you spend money on groceries, holidays and wine.

As part of this campaign I treated my boyfriend to a trip to View From The Shard, the highest viewing point in London.

Tickets are priced at £25 per person, and the views are phenomenal. We visited at 7pm so we got to see sunset, which was beautiful. You are given a guide on arrival which points out landmarks around the city, and gives you a history of The Shard, River Thames and more.

On both levels that you explore, you can treat yourselves to a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Plus, if you feel like splashing out, you can reserve one of the few tables dotted around the edge and enjoy a Fortnum & Mason's picnic. We saw a couple do this, munching on clotted cream scones, and we were instantly jealous. I'd love to treat my parents to something like that for their anniversary perhaps.
