The summer pop-up brings some of the best entertainment to the capital with a variety of shows available for all of the family throughout the summer, featuring live circus, comedy and cabaret. Plus, the festival offers a range of international street food stalls and outdoor bars, to enjoy this beautiful weather we’re having.
The festival turns 10 this year meaning it’s bigger and better than ever! Launched in April, it runs right up until the end of September, so there’s still plenty of time to pop by and catch a show. Whether you plan a visit with your friends and family one weekend or stop in after work one evening, all of the shows at the Underbelly Festival Southbank are only around an hour long, meaning you can enjoy them at any time of the day, week or month!
In August, you can enjoy circus sensation Metta’s Little Mermaid, live swing dancing, and House of Burlesque Revue, to name but a few! As I mentioned, the Underbelly Festival Southbank is also a the perfect opportunity to try the new Botanicals range of cider by Rekorderlig.
Rekorderlig is one of the festival’s partners and has launched one of the largest outdoor bars in London at the festival. The Botanicals range makes a welcome addition to its summer menu, fusing delicate and refreshing flavours. Served by the bottle or as part of its delicious cocktail range, they make the perfect summer serve.
Flavours include Peach-Basil (subtle tangy flavour with a peachy fragrance), Rhubarb-Lemon-Mint (distinct sweetness with a citrus and mint twist), and Grapefruit-Rosemary (perfect balance of citrus and aromatic rosemary).
We enjoyed ours over ice – my Rhubarb-Lemon-Mint was served with a sprig of mint and a squeeze of lime, while the Peach-Basil was served with basil and lemon in these beautiful Rekorderlig branded goblet glasses. My favourite was the Peach-Basil for its refreshing taste, but all three flavours bring a modern twist to cider and are perfect for a warm summers evening.
Underbelly Festival Southbank runs until the end of September, so there’s still plenty of time to pop by and enjoy a slice of the festival for yourself!
