A bit of a different post from me today. Some of you may or may not be aware that I work at ASOS. Since founding my career in fashion marketing many moons ago, it has always been a dream to work for a brand such as ASOS.
When I joined the company almost 2 years ago, I quickly became aware of the amazing work ASOS does with a number of different charities here in the UK as well as in India and Kenya, through the ASOS Foundation.
ASOS Foundation provides infrastructure, training and support for disadvantaged, young adults. They work with long-term partners including the Prince’s Trust and Centrepoint in the UK, SOKO Community Trust in Kenya and Udayan Care in India.
The latter of which, is why I am writing this post today.
In January, I will be joining 9 other ASOS employees on the trip of a lifetime, to help support Udayan Care in India for 10 days, as part of the ASOS Give A Week Away program. Udayan Care are a charitable trust, empowering young, vulnerable children across India. Set up in 1994, Udayan Care have helped over 15,000 orphaned and abandoned children, by offering them a home, an education and vocational training. We will have the opportunity to make a real difference, by helping refurbish some of the Udayan homes, run workshops and spend quality time with the children.
Sadly there are over 31 million orphaned and abandoned children in India. ASOS Foundation have helped support several boys and girls homes since 2009, and in 2014 they set themselves the target to build 5 brand new homes. The first of which opened in January 2016, and the second is due to open in January 2018. To give you an idea of cost, it approximately costs £200,000 to build one of the homes and a further £50,000 to furnish it.
I’m thrilled to have been selected and I can’t wait to visit India and meet the beautiful children that we will be helping. My first task before heading out to New Dehli, is to raise £700 in donations, all of which will go directly to Udayan Care.
However big or small a donation, your contribution will mean the world to me, and be greatly appreciated by the whole ASOS team and Udayan Care.

I will be documenting my trip in January and cannot wait to share with you all, photos and excerpts from our trip.
Wish me luck! x
