London Eats | Hummus Bros, Wardour Street

Hummus Bros

Hummus Bros has been on my list of restaurants to try in London, ever since we moved here two years ago. It seems that all my friends have eaten here, except me, and as it seems more of a lunch place, it’s been hard to fit. I don’t work near to one and don’t seem to find myself near one at the weekends. However, it’s actually open all day, for lunch and dinner, so when I found myself wanting a quick bite before an event in Soho, their Wardour Street branch seemed like the perfect option.

I chose the chicken and guacamole, which is apparently their most popular choice of topping. Warm sautéed chicken in a light tomato sauce, ripe avocado blended with red peppers, tomatoes & red onions is served on top of a bowl of hummus, with pitta bread to tear and dip in. As I was eating with Chloe, we decided to order a couple of sides to share as well. We chose their sweet potato falafel balls, served with tzatziki, and their Greek salad.

Not knowing for sure how big the regular sized hummus bowl would be, we found that it was actually more substantial than we thought, and we were unable to finish all of the food. However, I would still recommend ordering a side, and if you don’t choose falafel as a topping, definitely get a couple anyway as they are phenomenal!

Humus Bros also offer toppings such as tabouleh, beef & aubergine, chicken & falafel and guacamole & falafel. And if a hummus bowl isn’t your thing, you can also order a salad box or wrap. I’d really like to try the butternut squash and lentil curry box next time.
