How adorable is this ruffle blouse from ASOS? I wouldn’t say it was particularly my style, I tend to wear more simple, basic shapes with little fuss. But as soon as this top hit the site, I immediately added it to my saved items, and then when I was browsing our staff sample sale on Friday I spotted it on a rack for just £1. It was fate!
I wore this outfit out last night for a meal with my parents. They’re visiting us this weekend. I haven’t actually seen them since I went to Krakow with them way back in June (which I still need to blog about). So it’s a long overdue catch up! We headed to Pasta Remoli in Finsbury Park, upon many recommendations from friends. It was really yummy. Super authentic, great tasting pasta.
We spent yesterday wandering around Hampstead Heath, before making our way down towards Primrose Hill, where we had lunch. Although it had been showery in London in the morning, it soon cleared up and actually when it came out sunny, it was pretty warm. It was lovely to chill out and be surrounded by nature for a change. I always forget that London has these large open spaces. They’re fantastic. We really must try to use them more, and in fact we will have to head back in the coming weeks as we were a little too early to see the leaves on the trees changing colour.
Also featured in this outfit are my snazzy new black leather boots from Vagabond. I was recommended this brand by a colleague after noticing she was wearing some gorgeous black ankle boots at work. I always struggle to find good boots. I don’t mind paying more for them as long as they’re comfortable, durable and look good. And I feel that this particular pair tick all three boxes. I’ve only worn them once, but considering we walked around all day for about 9 miles, I think they’ve definitely withstood the comfort level! They are a little high on the ankle though so I have to wear normal length socks with them at all times, not ankle socks, otherwise the leather will probably rub my leg.
Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. What have you been up to?
