This Valentines I will be spending sadly alone, probably in bed, with a mug of hot chocolate and a good film. However, for all of you who are in love here are some Valentines tips on making this Thursday a special day...
Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular days for couples and singletons to hit the streets of their local cities to enjoy the valentine’s celebrations. Whether you are loved up, or free and single, Valentine’s Day is an all too popular reason to leave your homes and spread the love by hitting the clubs, bars and restaurants. However, despite this being the norm, I am all for staying in this Valentine’s Day! Unlike me though, you can spend your Valentines in your own home with your loved one with the romantic Valentines effect of any meal out!
Because of this, I wanted to give you lovely ladies some tips on how to make this Valentine’s Day special, not spend a fortune and stay away from the crowds:
Dress to impress
Just because you’re at home, it doesn’t mean you don’t have to think about your outfit, If you want to have a special evening it is important to dress up for your date. As it is Valentine’s Day, why not buy a beautiful red dress and a pair of killer heals, he will like that you have made the effort and think you’re a great girlfriend for not giving into the valentine’s day hype.
Set the mood
If you want to make your valentine’s day as romantic as possible you need to set the mood. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean you need to install a set of red lights over the entire house and fill it with masses of red roses; there are simple ways to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit which doesn’t mean spending a fortune. I always say by investing in a few candles, turning down the lighting and turning on some soft music has the ability to get you into the Valentine’s Day spirit. Privacy is key on Valentine’s Day, so ensure you close all vertical blinds and curtains as this day is for you and your loved one, not the whole street.
Make your gifts
In some ways Valentine’s Day can be a little bit of a marketing scheme, however, if you are anything like me you will buy into the scheme with open arms. Despite my love for Valentine’s Day, it can sometimes be a little bit expensive and no matter how strong your love for your partner is, spending a fortune on Valentine’s Day isn’t really necessary. Due to this, I have chosen to make a special Valentine’s Day cake as it is cheap, easy, and fun to make. If you aren’t great at making cakes, why not try and make beautiful cupcakes, these can sometimes be easier to create than a cake and you can use your creative culinary skills. Just remember, Valentine’s Day isn’t about spending lots of money, it’s about spending time together!

This was so cute, especially the making the gifts

ReplyDeleteLove these tips! My boyfriend and I don't make a huge fuss on Valentine's Day - usually we'll just go to the cinema and out for nando's haha. This year we are just staying in with a takeaway pizza! It's his birthday the next day so I'll treat him loads then, but I will give him a little pressie on Valentine's Day. xx
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great post. You don't need a boyfriend, lover, significant other, etc. to have a great Valentine's Day! Thank you for some great tips! Although my boyfriend and I will be doing something, I'll probably still make gifts :p I'm planning on making chocolate dipped strawberries!
