Sweet Monday 053

ELF: Black
Rimmel: White

01. HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEN!! As I said the other day, my friends and I spent Halloween this Saturday in Cheltenham. Above are my girls outfits, gotta say we made way more effort this year than ever before I think! How scary are my friend's red contacts?! :/ ahh! And the boys certainly got the most out of the blood! haha.
Was a really funny night, very random, and I've literally forgotten most parts completely! Always the sign of a good night ;) Yesterday however was horrendous, crawled out of bed at about 5pm, ate some toast and then went straight back to bed! Still don't feel right today, getting way too old for this malarki ;)

02. This week I'm hoping to see the beautiful Rosie (FOR THE THIRD TIME :D) as she is up my ends on a little trip with her bf. Fingers crossed we get to meet up.

03. Also hoping to spend this week at the cinema watching 'In Time' and 'Ides of March'. Any of you heard of them/want to see them? A bit of Mr Timberlake and Mr Gosling can never be a bad thing ;)

Right I'm off to bed again, need to catch up on all this lost sleep! Night x

Halloween Treats

I know it's not technically Halloween yet but I am fully in the Halloween mood today!

On Thursday my friend Millie and I had a day of baking where we made some delicious chocolate apples :) a little early for bonfire night but they taste so damn nice and are so easy to make, I think I'll be making them all year round now! We covered them in everything from white chocolate shavings, to nuts, to sprinkles!

We then went on to make some super chocolatey cookies which we decorated in Halloweenesque designs. The icing was pretty hard work as our cookie mixture made far more than we were expecting!
After the 4 hours of baking I was absolutely shattered and took some of the cookies along to my guinea pig who eats everything I make! Haha he's going to be as big as a house soon ;)
We then went for a Nandos which I was absolutely dying for...eating raw cookie mixture all day isn't too filling and a little bit sickly. And for a change the Nandos was perfect. The last few times we've been there's always been something wrong but not this time :)
After that we were meant to go to this haunted hayride and maze event that is near where we live. Once we got there and heard all the screams we both bailed haha. I am such a wimp when it comes to scary things :(

Tonight we're all out in Cheltenham for a few friends birthdays. I picked up a few more bits from BINTM Live yesterday for my outfit :) Can't wait to get it all on. Just praying my hair goes as I hope and I will blog the nights events asap!

Hopefully tomorrow I will get up my BINTM Live photo's, had such a great day yesterday! And bought some rather nice bits.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! x

Silver Service AW11

L-R: Silver bulls head necklace - £125
Fatima hand necklace - £55
Bone bulls head necklace - £90
Peace sign bracelets - £12 - £17.50
Skull bracelet - £72
Jesus necklace - £80

Back in may I blogged about the London based jewellery company Silver Service. Well now they're back with their Autumn/Winter look book and I'm so excited for their new stock.
Following my previous post where I was lucky enough to receive a gorgeous white skull ring, I haven't taken it off! It's such an incredible piece, made from bone, it's simply unique.
The new stock is similar in size and material as their other pieces but they've refreshed their collection with new designs including the native american and spiritual pieces.
My favourite items are listed above, and I'm definitely going to be asking for one of the bulls head necklaces for Christmas :)
What are your favourite items from Silver Service? Do you like their jewellery designs?

Here's a few more photo's from their look book...
I really love the way they style their photo shoots, it's always very fitting with the jewellery and shows them off to their full potential. Plus the models are absolutely gorgeous!
You can either buy Silver Service straight from their website

Ain't nobody like you

Blouse: Olive
Boots: Topshop

This outfit is a favourite of mine at the moment, mainly because of the skirt which I picked up in Southampton. It's one of those sheer maxi skirts with a mini bodycon skirt underneath. I was worried I wouldn't know what to wear with it but this blouse from Olive in Cheltenham is almost identical in colour to some of the pattern on the skirt. I opted for my chelsea boots to wear under it as it was a pretty cold day but I think it would go with some cute pumps or something as well.

Just looking on the Miss Selfridge website now and there's a lot of things I'm liking the look of. Damn you Miss Selfridge for being so expensive ;)

P.S I'm selling a few bits on eBay!

Sweet Monday 052

01. Good morning! Hope you all had a good weekend? What did everyone get up to? I spent the day yesterday getting ready for Halloween! As I mentioned before I'm wearing some tights that the lovely girls at Dixi sent me :)
If you fancy buying some ready for Halloween get in there quick :) and remember if you use 'SWEETTREATSDX' at the checkout you'll receive free shipping! Also if you follow them on Facebook you may have seen them post a little something about me :D sooo sweet!
To go with the tights, I'm painting bones on to a black top, so yesterday I blew up an image and have created a stencil out of it. Today shall be spent painting that on, just hope I bought enough fabric paint.
I'm also doing a spot of face paint, going for a sugar skull look. So I also spent some time practicing that. The image above is how it turned out and for a first try I don't think it's too bad. Will be perfecting the lines and evenness next Saturday hopefully!

02. What are you all doing for Halloween? My friends and I are going out in Cheltenham once again but to a different club than our usual, called the 2 Pigs. It hosts a lot of gig nights but has a club room upstairs. It's a little grungy with graffiti covered walls, and in the Summer they have BBQ's out the back, but it's the perfect setting for Halloween! You really won't care what you look like in there haha. There's going to be a lot of friends out, some I haven't seen in months so it should be a really fun night! To get more in the Halloween spirit, my friend Millie and I are having a baking day on thursday where we shall be baking up some Halloweenesque treats so keep your eyes pealed :)

03. Friday is BNTM Live in London which I'm really looking forward to, need to figure out how to get there today! I'll hopefully take lots of photos to show you all :) So this week is pretty much jam packed with goodness! And I have today off, feels so good not to have to be getting up in the dark and rushing around, mwahaha! x

Rainbow

MO L-R: Lilac Dream, Pink Blush, Pink Punch, Aciiied, Top coat, Nail art pen
17: Catwalk Couture

Did these nails the other night after seeing my friend from uni, Christine do some! Christine's look far better but I really like this design. I've done it before but with just all one colour, my fave neon pink punch :D But I've never tried it with all different colours. I wore them to work yesterday, not sure what my boss made of it! haha.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend!

Cherry Bakewell's

(makes 12)
150g butter
150g caster sugar
100g self-raising flour
3 eggs
60g ground almonds
raspberry jam
250g icing sugar
glace cherries

I made these cherry bake well cupcakes after seeing the recipe on Milly's blog. Now Milly's look farrrr better than mine but I couldn't resist having a go myself. I love cherry bake well's but have never had a cupcake like it before.
They're so easy to make and Milly describes how to make them a lot better than I probably good so please have a look at her post :) But basically you just mix the butter and sugar, followed by adding the eggs and flour. And then finally the crushed almonds. Pop a dollop into each cupcake case and pop in the oven until golden brown. Once cooled you make a small hole in each and add in the jam. It's probably best to wait a minute as I then applied the icing straight away and if you're not careful the icing can mix with the jam and it turns into quite a mess. My icing skills are no where near as good as Milly's, but after a bit of a trial and error a few came out ok. Before the icing has set pop on a glace cherry for the final touch and voila :) Simple as that. And they taste sooo good!

Lilac Dream

White nail art pen

You probably saw these nails briefly in yesterday's post but I thought I'd show a close up. I'm a little bit obsessed with lilac dream at the moment by Models Own. It's such a nice colour which I thought was more Spring/Summer, but looks good in Autumn too. I'm a bit worried that it's going to be hard to do nail designs on A/W colours?! When using dark nail polishes I find layering is hard and leopard print is definitely not going to work...uh oh! haha.

I did the lines on these free hand and I'm pretty impressed if I do say so myself. I find scotch tape a nightmare to work with so am practicing my steady hand techniques :)

I've done a crazy leopard print design today which I'll put up soon!

Oh and thank you for all your lovely comments on yesterday's post xx

Frank and Doll

Shoes: eBay
Rings L-R: c/o Frank & Doll, Silver Service
Nails: Models Own 'Lilac Dream'

I was contacted by the lovely online boutique Frank & Doll last week. I hadn't heard of the site before but I'm so glad Samantha got in touch with me, her site is full of beautiful clothes, jewellery and accessories. If you're like me and haven't came across them before, have a browse. I've fallen in love with this cardigan! I've been looking for one similar for a while now, it's so cosy, making it perfect for Autumn. And the dress reminds me of Motel but at a much more affordable price of only £30. The bottom leopard print half is a kind of velvet material which I wasn't expecting but it makes it feel more expensive than it is.
Samantha also threw in this beautiful gold and dark green stone ring which I didn't know about until I received the humungous parcel in the post yesterday :) I'm sure most of you know by now that my obsession with rings is out of control, so much so I am not allowing myself to buy anymore... but of course I welcome free ones with open fingers! haha.
I teamed the outfit with my gorgeous (fake) JC's. I'm literally in love with them, and they go so well with this outfit. And I thought I'd also wear my beautiful skull ring from Silver Service as Frank and Doll also sell some of their jewellery. Once again if you haven't heard of Silver Service go and see the bits that Samantha is selling, they do some really unusual, very well made pieces.

Althought it's 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon I really don't want to take this outfit off! Damn.

Sweet Monday 051

01. For once I actually did things this weekend and have lots of exciting things to tell you :) First up my weekend was really good, went out on Saturday to Cheltenham again with three of my best friends (above). We started off by going to this new club called 'Kukui' where we were on guest list and got a free cocktail in a coconut! Haha. The music was really good in there and the drinks weren't too pricey but sadly we'd also got free entry to our usual club so went there shortly afterwards. I think next time we'll stay in Kukui to give it a try.

02. I was contacted by a lovely online boutique called Frank and Doll last week and should hopefully have something really good to blog about in the next couple of days :)

03. It must be my lucky week because I was also contacted by Rachel as I'd been one of the lucky five to win a pair of tickets to Britain's Next Top Model Live through Rachel's blog :D Actually can't believe I've won something, I'm usually so unlucky! So my friend Rachel (not the same person) and I will be heading down next Friday to the Excel centre :) really looking forward to it!

04. I doubt many of you will be interested, but I now blog for the company I work for, Abitalia. It's mainly to do with high end Italian furniture companies but I just thought I'd let you know! And I spotted my first advert in this months 'Cotswold Life' magazine....

Baking/Blogging Craze

mini cupcakes! cuuuute
flower cupcakes with lots of jam!

Hello lovelies! Wow I am on a blogging record this week, just can't get enough haha.

Firstly my stupid iPhone update did not go well yesterday :( After spending 4 hours of my life waiting for the damn thing to work it has and I do actually love it! What are your thoughts if you have an iPhone? But in the meantime, because of the many errors it lost everything off my phone. Stupidly the last time I had backed my phone up was in August so all my texts, contacts, photos etc since then have now dissappeared! Could've been a lot worse though and I've now learnt my lesson to back everything up :)
But it means I lost my beautiful cake photos, so I'm having to use these Instagram ones instead.

I went a bit baking mad this week... I really need a boy who can be by guinea pig and I can fatten up!! :D I love baking but I much prefer making them look pretty than actually eating them?!! I think I must be mad, so if anyone wants free cakes, I have a bout 30 here for you :)

In other news the wonderful ladies over at Dixi sent me a surprise gift in the post last week, including these AMAZING tights! Absolutely perfect for Halloween, so I am now currently painting bones all over a black top and I intend on making my head look as much like a skull as possible :D
And to be even more wonderful, they've given me a lovely discount code to share with my readers. So you can use 'SWEETTREATSDX' to receive free shipping throughout October! Enjoyyy.

Candyman

White nail art pen

Actually listening to 'Candyman' as I write this. Gotta love a bit of old Xtina :) Did these stripey nails so late last night, I'm surprised the lines came out so well. I love this colour 'Peach Melba' by Barry M, it's so soft and pretty and goes great with the white. The white nail art pen is one that I've literally had since I was at secondary school. The dotting part to it is all dried up but the polish inside is still perfect so I did these stripes with the brush end of it. I really want to invest in a whole range of colours like Lily has to do some really interesting designs.

I spent this morning doing a whole lot more baking :) which you will see soon! If you follow me on twitter you may have seen the photo's I've posted. But now I'm shattered, may have an afternoon nap, but must catch up on TOWIE first :D x

Strawberries & Cream

(makes 10)
85g butter
85g caster sugar
85g self raising flour
2 eggs
Clotted cream
Strawberries!

I made these beauts this afternoon and they taste so damn good! I wanna get into baking again, but this time try to be more creative with flavours and ingredients rather than concentrating on the decoration all the time. I think I've exhausted my piping bag at the moment (plus it's covered in black dye, need to find another asap). I was bought some really cute tiny cupcake cases for my birthday which I still haven't used and I saw such a sweet idea for what to do with them the other day so may spend tomorrow afternoon doing that :)

Following up from Monday's post, I went to see Abduction last night. Was a bit of a fail on my behalf... I chose it and it really wasn't all that. The acting was a little cringe in a few places, but it was quite an action packed movie I suppose. I wouldn't write it off but I certainly won't be rushing out to buy it.

Looks like a few really good films coming out soon though, especially 'In Time' with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, where people stop living at 25 and have to earn more time on Earth. Anyone else seen the trailer for it? What did you think?

Sweet Monday 050

American Apparel: Make Up
Models Own: Champagne & Purple Ash

01. As you can probably tell from my recent posts, this weekend was rather bare, so I spent both Saturday and Sunday painting my nails! After not so much luck with my 'aztec' design, I immediately took them off and settled for this simple design above instead. I am constantly experimenting and if I'm not happy I always take it straight back off, my poor nails, they must be so damaged!

02. I did however go shopping once again on Saturday and have now returned the one green pair of jeans after I bought two pairs in Southampton ;) And have now ordered some berry red ones off ASOS as they're far cheaper and do free delivery/returns :D just hope they fit now, although on second look I think I prefer this pair. Hmm I was worried the darker ones would be more 'trouser' like material than jeans. Thank god for free returns! I hate ordering things like this online.

03. The week ahead isn't looking too busy either. I have a dreaded dentist appointment Wednesday morning and I might be going to see 'Abduction' at the cinema at some point. Has anyone seen it? Any good? I'm not a huge Twilight fan, so I haven't seen Taylor all that much which should help relating to him in a different role.

Hope you all had a much more exciting weekend than I did :) x

Aztec Nails

American Apparel: Make-Up
Bourjois black eyeliner

These really aren't the best but for a first proper attempt I don't they're too bad. Just need to work on the lines more, my hand was so shaky and I was so determined to get the lines straight that they ended up really thick and still don't look straight haha! Aztec designs are so tricky, I dunno how so many of you do them so well... I'm impressed!

I won't give up though, determined to master it at some point!

I'm just catching up on X Factor. I did watch it last night but we had family over so couldn't really hear any of it. Who were your faves? Who do you think will be going tomorrow? x

P.S I've just noticed I'm featured on My Street Chic's website where you can vote for my outfits! Thank you ladies over at msc :)

Southampton

L - R:
Paper Chase scrapbook

So I didn't actually take any photo's of my trip to Southampton this week so instead I thought I'd include what I bought. After a very messy evening Tuesday, where I didn't particularly make it out, we spent Wednesday shopping. After recently being paid from my new job I went a little crazy and actually bought three pairs of trousers, two being exactly the same?! I bought these jade green jeans from Miss Selfridge then spotted the same ones in River Island for £8 less so got them too, but now I've tried them both on at home the Miss Selfridge ones are a much better fit. I did however realise that I already own the same colour but in trousers, although they are cropped so I guess jeans are totally different. Really wanted some burgundy ones but they're pretty much sold out everywhere!
This skirt was on a mannequin as I walked in to Miss Selfridge and it automatically caught my eye. It's one of those ones that have a mini skirt underneath and the maxi skirt is sheer. It was so nice, and such a lovely pattern I couldn't resist, although I now have no idea what to wear it with?!
And the scrapbook is because I am FINALLY getting around to sorting out all of my photo's from Europe last summer. Can't wait to start making it, may do that tonight whilst watching x factor :)

After the shopping trip I had the pleasure of meeting up with Rosie, Laura and Michelle where we drank cocktails and wine in Revolution :) We spent the afternoon talking about Made in Chelsea, TOWIE, Laura's crazy car raging neighbour and Rosie's cute little pup :D Sadly once again we didn't manage to take a photo but was super good to see them! Wish I lived closer to more bloggers.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! x

Student Month at Motel Rocks

Motel Rocks are offering EVERYONE 20% off to celebrate student month! In the photo above I am modeling a dress from the new collection called the Elsa dress. As all of you know I am an avid Motel fan, buying from them rather a lot, and always being spotted in Motel on nights out with my friends. So when the new collection previewed on their Facebook page I had to have a snoop, and I loved what I saw. There's so many other things I would love to have in my wardrobe so I will definitely be making use of this promotion.

Here's a few of my faves... I love the new Autumn colours they've used especially.

20% off is valid until October 16th, just enter STUDENT20 at the check out :) happy shopping!

Sweet Monday 049

Outfit: Topshop

01. Eek I'm a little late but I have already posted today :) Just a quick one to say I'm off to Southampton for a few days so won't be blogging this week. But I am meeting up with the lovely Laura, Rosie and Michelle :D yay! Wonder if we'll actually take a photo this time?! Can't wait to see Laura and Rosie again and it'll be my first time of meeting Michelle!

02. This weekend was so good, after working Saturday I went out with the ladies which turned into a pretty fun night. Wore the leather look leggings again, I'm obsessed with them but they're always a winner. And my top is actually my friends but I wish it was mine. Also from Topshop it's so nice! I then spent Sunday lazing in the sun, working off my hangover ;)

03. Sadly the sun has no longer got his hat on, back to Autumn we go! Tbh I'm quite looking forward to wearing layers, and staying in for movie nights in the warm :) I love this time of year!

Have a good week everyone :) x
