Sunny September

So yesterday as I mentioned my friend and I went for a picnic at Symonds Yat which is a really picturesque place about 15 minutes from where we live.
I can't get over how hot it was for late September, think I've topped up my tan on my legs nicely :)
From there we headed to Ross-on-Wye where we enjoyed an ice cold alcoholic beverage in the beer garden of the Royal Hotel. If for any reason you find yourself in Ross one day I would recommend this hotel simply for it's stunning views. You can see right across the Wye valley.
Was a really beautiful today, sadly it's back to work now! Going to miss enjoying this weather x

Dotty

Models Own: Lilac Dream & Fuzzy Peach

Just a quick one, painted my nails yesterday to match my mood. Spent the day basking in the sunshine with a smile on my face so thought I'd do something on my nails to reflect that :)
I really need to invest in a dotting tool though, I did these by just dolloping the polish on! Oops. From a distance they look ok. And I love these colours from Models Own, especially the lilac dream, so pretty!

I apologise for my mood on Monday, things are starting to look up already! The sunshine has helped put a smile back on my face, but also I am spending today with my best friend, we're off to have a picnic and possibly book in for new tattoos! eep! And then next week is a bit of a whirlwind...Southampton on Tuesday and London on Friday! So excited for both. Thank god it's payday tomorrow :)

Hope everyone is having a lovely time in the sun! If you're at work I feel for you :( x

Models Own Launches New Collection

L-R Golden Green, Pinky Brown, Purple Blue, Aqua Violet & Emerald Black

Just saw Models Own's latest update on facebook and had to share it with you all. They are launching these 5 fantastic colours in November, called the 'Beetlejuice Collection', and I can't wait to get my hands on them. At just £5 they will priced the same as their another nail polishes. My favourite looks to be Aqua Violet at the moment on first glance, but I'd love to get them all. I've seen other brands including Accessorize do colours very similar but I've heard the consistency has never been that great. We all know that consistency is one of Models Own's strongest assets so hopefully this new collection will carry on the trait.

Sweet Monday 048

Keeping it very short and not so sweet this week. Had a pretty shitty day today, and literally did nothing this weekend worth talking about! Really not in the mood for blogging, might take a little break.

One thing I did do however is watch Crazy, Stupid, Love on friday and it was amazing :D would definitely recommend it... just for Ryan Gosling's body! PHWOAR ;) and his dress sense is impeccable throughout the film. Guys need to wear suits everyday haha.

Hopefully seeing Drive this week too, Gosling overload. mm! That should cheer me up :) x

Cupcake Fancies

So finally I made the cupcakes that I promised I was going to make last weekend. They are not anything like what I planned though. Firstly the sponge isn't chocolate like it looks... I put black dye in them hoping they'd go black, clearly not! And then I saw a friend had made some cupcakes where she'd painted the inside of the piping bag with a food colouring and as the icing piped out it had different colour edges, looks amazing! So I painted the inside black and made pink icing, well the black just mixed with the pink and it made a massive splurge of browny black crappy icing :( so that didn't go to plan. So finally I just piped the pink icing and then had a brain wave of putting the edges on myself with an icing pen. I didn't have black so ended up with white and now they look like Mr Kipling's french fancies. Haha!

Basically a massive fail but they still tasted yummy, although all the good ones got eat by my friend! ;) so now I'm left with the messy black ones, oh well, it's all about the taste rather than the looks!

Green with Envy

Shirt: Olive
Leggings: Topshop
Boots: Topshop
Quilted Jacket: Topshop
Bag: H&M
Models Own: Grace Green

I wore this outfit down to Bristol yesterday but regretted it as soon as I got there, it was absolutely freezing down there!! Don't get me wrong, this jacket is lovely and snug, but the shirt with it's holey shoulders was not a good choice. However I do love this outfit, and I love how my Models Own nails matched the shirt entirely.

I spent the day with my friend Emily who I haven't seen since my birthday in April (bad friend!) so it was lovely seeing her, and her new house and her gorgeous new kitty, who was a bit of a terror, running up my legs all day! Was lovely to just chill and go to the cinema rather than always going out for a drink or twenty! Hopefully when I have some money I'll be doing more of these nice outings rather than spending all my money and not remembering it the next day! ;)

Right off to bake some cakes (FINALLY), gotta be quick though, dentist appointment at 2.30 :( ugh!

Matte Leopard

Models Own: Grace Green
Models Own nail art pen: Black
Rimmel: Matte Finish

Just a quickie, literally have done these nails in about 5 mins as I'm late! Wanted to do something funky for my couple of days off work, but I'm off to Bristol for the afternoon/evening so didn't have time to do anything crazy. So here's the classic leopard's again ;) But this time I put a matte coat over top with Rimmel's Pro Matte Finish, to see what effect it would have, I quite like it! Tones the leopard print down a bit, now it's not so shiny. And I love Models Own's grace green! Such a lovely Autumn colour, it matches the shirt I'm wearing today perfectly too! x

Sweet Monday 047

01. Bit late posting today, been so tired this evening, literally haven't moved off my bum! Been chatting away on facebook and the time has flew by. Was hoping for an early night but now BB is on and Made in Chelsea is back?! Oh the dilemma ;) ...wow what has my life come to!

02. This weekend consisted of more drinking on a night out in Cheltenham this time for my friend Becci's birthday. Her Mum put on a spread of party food and cocktails before we headed out, was so good! Felt like a little kid again, except with lots of nice alcohol haha. The photo above is of my friend Rachel and I. I love this photo, getting slightly addicted to instagram at the moment. It's really cool getting to see your friends upload photo's though, some are so pretty.

03. Not a lot else to say I don't think, life is all work and a little play. In fact my life is turning into a cycle, work all week, go out Saturday night and spend Sunday in bed. This weekend I had a little hungover partner which made the day feel better for a change :) But honestly I can't take these hangover's anymore, I'm too old for this! Haha.

04. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, did any of you get up to anything exciting? I'm loving all of these London Fashion Week blog posts :D wish I could of gone! A tad jealous, but great to see everyone's photo's!

Drippy nails

Models Own: Lilac Dream
E.L.F: Black

I tried out the 'drippy' technique yesterday quickly just to see how easy it is and... it's seriously easy! Literally just slapped it on, and I don't think it looks to bad, not to sure on the first and middle finger, but the rest look ok! Love these two colours together too, I think lilac dream could be my latest fave from Models Own.

Also a little heads up, River Island are now doing sets of three Models Own polishes for only £10! Some packs even include a crackle polish, so that would normally retails at £15/£16! Bit of a bargain.

Shopping spree

Quilted jacket: Topshop sold out online (£55)
Burgundy dress: Dixi (£25)
Wet look leggings: Topshop (£22)
JC Lita style boots: eBay (£25ish)
Ankle boots: Topshop (£36)

So yesterday I went a little crazy and bought everything above! Everything bar the dress was on my wishlist so I'm glad I've got them all, I just really don't have the money. I transferred money from my savings to tie me over until pay day and instead blew it all on this lot! Haha

The jacket I've had my eye on for a couple of weeks and was devastated to find out it was sold out in the Cheltenham store and is now no longer online, so when the Gloucester store only had 2 left, I had to grab one!
The leggings I think are a bit of a bargain for Topshop, they're really good quality and look so good on (however they are so hard to GET on!) and I was surprised by the price tag.
The ankle boots were pointed out by a friend a few weeks ago and I did really like them but couldn't justify buying them at the time, but now I thought why the hell not!
And thanks to Victoria's amazing eBay finds, I picked up these Jeffrey Campbell style boots off of eBay for only £25ish (the price was in dollars)..bargain! Can't wait for them too arrive, they're coming from China though so could be a while :( I almost ordered a size 5 thinking they were UK sizes then noticed it said the sizes were in Australian, they had a converter at the bottom so I worked out that a UK size 5 is an Australian size 7! I HOPE! They'll probably come and actually be a size 7! Fml.

And finally the dress was a crazy grab and go affair. I saw Dixi post it up on Facebook and loved it! My friend has one similar in black from Motel and I'm always borrowing it so she'll be happy to know I've now got my own and I love the colour :)

I'm going out on the weekend but don't know what to wear now, the dress if it comes in time, the leggings with some kind of top?! Or I have a Motel black striped dress I've never worn just sitting in my wardrobe! Decisions, help me please?! :)

So now I really must stop spending, although I've just seen a lovely dress on Rosie's blog (another find from Vipxo) and I really want it in black for work! Ahhhh

Does anyone else find they can go weeks without buying anything, being really good and then you just go crazy and spent hundred?! I'm terrible :(

Crave You

Hat: H&M
Top: H&M
Leggings: Topshop
Brogues: New Look
Bag: Vintage
Belt: Vintage
Ring: Florence Market

Stupidly I dressed for Autumn today and it felt like summer! I HATE THIS WEATHER. Moaned all Summer wanting to see the sun and now all the leaves are crunchy underfoot I want it to be cold so I can get my Winter warmers out ;) Oh well, I'm sure we're in store for a long cold Winter.

I went a bit Topshop crazy today... I bought these boots, these leggings and a lovely hooded quilted jacket! All the girls that I met in Bristol will know I've wanted one for a while but was fed up with them all looking the same everywhere you go, so when I saw this cute hooded one with a check interior I knew I had to have it! Saw it in the Cheltenham store last week and then today they told me they had sold out :( dashed to Gloucester and they only had two left so I snapped one up! And I've now noticed they're no longer only so I can't show you what it looks like :( I'll try do an outfit post of it soon :)

In other news, I bought some black food dye yesterday so might try out some black cupcakes tomorrow?! Or plain sponge with black icing?! :D I've got orders to bake and I haven't in a while so I think I ought too!

Any who off to watch 90210 and then BB. Anyone watching BB this year? I missed the celeb one but have been watching the normal one on my days off. I love that everyone is of a similar age, I wonder why they did that, hmm haha. Anyone else rooting for Rebekah and Aden (or however he says his name now) to get it on?! I know she's 10  years older but wow she doesn't look it and he seems so sweet! Or am I totally wrong?

Oh and this post is titled Crave You because I can't get this song out of my head <3

Sweet Monday 046

01. As if I've done 46 of these?! Where has this year gone too! It has felt proper Autumny today. Walking around Cheltenham it was blowing gale force winds, not good for the hair but lovely to see all the leaves on the ground...got me all excited to blow my first pay slip on clothes! Haha. I've been stalking Topshop's website lately, my list is soooo long. Does anyone else find Topshop do A/W wayyy better than they do S/S. I don't think I bought one item from there this Summer.

02. This weekend I spent with the girls and it was sooo good! Love having a bit of girl time. My best friend and I went to the cinema on Friday to see 'Friends with Benefits', and I thought it was really good...and not just because Mila Kunis is a babe (there are no words!!!) But yeh it was the classic chick flick but we both really enjoyed it. My silly friend bought us student tickets online though so of course we then got asked for our student cards when we presented them and of course we don't have any because we're old women now! Cineworld completely denied us, and had the shame of queuing back up to return them and buy adults. Love the fact I didn't look young enough to be a student yet the other day a client at work thought I was fresh out of school! haha.

03. And then Saturday night was spent having a random one in Hereford where I bumped into the lovely Lily once again. I apologise Lily if I was a little drunk, I don't remember too much but was lovely to catch up :) Was a pretty good night as far as nights in Hereford go! Off out in Cheltenham next week for a friends birthday which should be better... my poor bank balance!

Galaxy Nails

Models Own: In The Navy
Rimmel: Blue My Mind
W7: Cosmic Purple
Models Own: Silver Fox
Models Own: Aciiied
Nail art pen

So I'm sure you've all seen these 'galaxy' or 'cosmic' nails before, done by many bloggers including my faves Heather and Lily. Well I thought I'd give it a go for myself, now mine are slightly different too Heather's, I tried following a tutorial on you tube but I'm not sure about them?! I don't think they look very galaxy at all and the more I look at them the more I'm thinking I'm going to take them off haha. The tutorial did say to sponge the colours on whereas I didn't have a sponge so just tried to dab the brush, maybe that was one downfall. Oh well, for a first attempt though I suppose it's not too bad and I may well try again one day. I'm just very picky with my nail designs and so critical.

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend! I am feeling a little worse for wear after a random night out in Hereford last night. But what else are Sundays for other than lying on the sofa all day long :)

My Street Chic

So after our lovely blogger meet the other month in Bristol where we me two ladies from My Street Chic website, we all immediately signed up. And by signing up you get some free goodies, mine arrived earlier this week. I got this nail polish along with a mascara and lip gloss. Never heard of this brand 2true before but the coverage of the nail polish actually quite impressed me. The first coat was rather wish washy and I didn't have a lot of faith but then the second coat covered really well. Another polish to add to my humungous collection ;)
If you haven't heard of My Street Chic, you can find out a bit more about them at their website or on my Bristol post and you can follow them on twitter

Bonjour!

Blazer: H&M
Top: Urban Outfitters
Trousers: H&M
Brogues: River Island
Bag: Vintage

Bonjour! It's been a while since I posted an outfit post. I wore this yesterday whilst walking round town looking for a nice watch for my new job (to no avail!). Finally I am blogging the H&M mustard trousers that I bought in Bristol...Rosie bought the same pair, great taste obviously ;) And of course my beloved new brogues that I also picked up in Bristol. I was worried it would be a little matchy, with too much mustard going on but I don't think it looks too bad?! The black on the shoes match the black blazer and the stripes in the top so it's not too yellow overall!
The blazer I bought cheap as chips from H&M for only £30! I got it for work and absolutely love it, the fit is great and now I can't stop wearing it out of work too, it smartens up any outfit!
I'm dressing so up market for work I feel all posh haha, and I think it's going to start to take an effect on my every day dress code too.
I won this beautiful bag to from Claire a while ago :D best prize ever!

Called this post Bonjour as it's hello and also I think I look a little French. But maybe it should've been Bonjourno?! I need to get in training for my new job, every thing's so Italian! So I suppose I should now end with....ciao! :)

Models Own Review

Models Own: Lilac Dream, Pink Blush & Aciiied

Last week I received these three Models Own polishes that I bought in their 50% off sale. I've wanted a lilac colour for a while now (my Barry M one has gone all gooey) and I'm so pleased with Lilac Dream. In the photos this is actually only one coat! I'm so impressed with the coverage, I don't think I'd bother doing two coats.
The Pink Blush is a little darker than I expected but it looks great and is a shade of pink I don't currently own. This was two coats, but one may be enough for some of you as again this polish covered really well.
Aciiied I've wanted for a while, I've seen lots of bloggers using it and I knew it was a new one of Models Own. It's more yellow in real life than I had expected, it looks quite greeny in the bottle but I still love the colour. I'm obsessed with brights and neons at the moment. Slightly annoyed we're going into Autumn now, don't think I used bright nails enough this Summer. This polish did need two coats, one coat was streaky and I could still see my nail. But two coats is really what I expect from any nail polish anyway. It's odd how some have a really good consistency and others don't. All Models Own polishes only take 2 coats maximum though to create extremely good coverage. If you still haven't ever bought any from them or haven't heard of them then I would strongly recommend them as a brand. They're sold in most Boots stores now as well so there's really no excuses! £5 might be £2 more than rivals such as Barry M and Rimmel but from experience they're by far a hell of a lot better, they come in more colours and the bottles are bigger!

Wedding nails

Models Own: Nude & Top Coat

So these are the nails I did for the wedding I went to on Saturday. I went for something nice and simple, and the lovely nude colour that Models Own do complimented my accessories perfectly. I thought I'd add a very sparkles to jazz them up a little but leaving them understated. The gems are actually ones I've had since I was little, they came with a nail art kit. But I'm sure you can get some off eBay.

I've had a lot of nail polish deliveries this week and still haven't blogged about what I got in the Models Own 50% sale. So expect a lot of nail polish posts this week.

Oh and you'll never guess, after I was so depressed for months at my last job and wrote off to about 50 companies and barely got any replies, and now I'm finally in an interior design job...I've now been offered another! Typical isn't it, like buses. I must say the job I have now is definitely better and has a much higher end clientele so I'm sure in the long run sticking with my new job will pay off more so than this new offer :)

Sweet Monday 045

01. Sorry for the lack of blogging the last week but I have had the busiest week! Saturday was one of my best friends weddings :D I've know the bride since we were 3 years old and she's the first of our group to get hitched. It was beautiful and she looked absolutely stunning. I'll put up lots of photos at the end of this post :)

02. I then spent the rest of the weekend worrying about starting my new job today... I don't know what I was worrying about! It went absolutely fine :) In fact it was one of the craziest, most surreal days of my life. Started the day by having to gain up to date information on all of their suppliers and then email them introducing myself as their newest designer!! (yes me, a designer :D) and I will now be the one they all have to contact. Scary times! I've got my own iMac and my desk is part of the kitchen in the showroom haha. I had to get all of that done by Friday and managed to finish it by the end of the day! So that was good for a first day. I also got to visit a clients house with my boss to get first hand experience with client meetings. I arrived to be greeted by a Lamborghini and a brand new Porshe! Hopefully a sign of things to come ;)
Tomorrow I'm going in early to look around another clients home where the project has been valued at a whopping £300 grand!! Can't wait to see their home! And Wednesday is my day off but I might offer to go up to Cheshire with the other designer I work with as he's working on a footballer's mansion. By offering to work for free it might score me some brownie points :)

03. Ahhh and with all of that I am totally ready for bed! Shattered!!
